The same machine behaves differently depending on the room it is in. This is what we have learned from the ones we run.
Fresher’s week is the whole year in a fortnight
If it is in the room for fresher’s, it gets seen by every new student in one go and it stays in the room for the rest of the year. Worth planning a machine around on its own.
It costs the union nothing to try
Student venues run tight budgets and slow sign-off. Profit share gets round both: there is nothing to buy, so there is nothing to get approved and nothing to put in next year’s budget.

Every venue below has agreed to be named. Padel centres, a students’ union bar, a shisha lounge, restaurants, a barber shop, vape shops, an air base. The two biggest operators in this category name none of theirs.

Anyone can say they are reliable. The difference is whether they will put a name next to it and let you go and check. These venues let us use theirs. Just Padel and Shawingz each run machines at more than one of their sites. They had one, and came back for another. That is the part we would look at hardest if it were our floor space.

This is the part most operators skip, because a supplier who has already been paid has no reason to care where the machine ends up. On profit share we are not paid until it earns, which is exactly why we are fussy about the corner. What actually decides takings.

Do you already work with student venues?
Yes. We run a machine at Atmosphere, the students’ union bar at the University of Salford, and we place machines at university sites elsewhere. Ask and we will put you in touch.
Can we get it in for fresher’s week only?
Yes. That is a hire, at a fixed price agreed upfront, delivered and collected by us. Plenty of venues do fresher’s as a hire and then move to profit share once they have seen what it does.
Does the union have to buy anything or sign a long agreement?
Nothing to buy and nothing to rent. Terms are in writing before anything is installed, and if it is not earning we move it or take it back. We only make money when the machine does.
Is it safe to have in a bar full of students?
We install it ourselves instead of dropping it off, and service it on a schedule. Faults are ours to fix. If your venue or your insurer needs specific paperwork for their file, ask us and we will tell you exactly what we can provide. A straight answer rather than a badge.
